Results for America partners with state and local education leaders to find, fund and implement solutions that drive progress for students nationwide. Our goal is to make proven approaches easier to implement and easier to scale—so more dollars flow to what works.

Our Ed Lab has supported results-driven education leaders in the following ways:

Spending Guides and Solutions Sprints

Government grantmaking can be a powerful tool. Results for America’s Education Evidence-Based Spending Guide offers state education agency (SEA) leaders strategies to build and use evidence to improve outcomes through their grantmaking programs.

Our team organizes Solutions Sprints — action-oriented learning experiences designed to help education leaders implement effective solutions. Each Solutions Sprint offers: collaboration to connect with a network of peers and partners across sectors; knowledge to gain insights from expert facilitators and case studies; and action plans to leave equipped with the tools and strategies to drive impact in your jurisdiction. Our High-Impact Tutoring Sprint and Summer Learning Sprint have helped dozens of education leaders learn to effectively implement and sustainably fund these evidence-based solutions.

Shifting Dollars Technical Assistance℠

Results for America’s Shifting Dollars Technical Assistance℠ helps government leaders drive public funds to more effective solutions. We help state education agencies and school districts align funding decisions with evidence—influencing how resources are allocated, prioritized, and sustained so that more funding supports programs that improve outcomes.

Our Ed Lab team helped education leaders implement the bipartisan Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), which required and encouraged the use of evidence-based approaches to improve student outcomes.

Invest in What Works State Education Fellows Program

Results for America’s Invest in What Works State Education Fellows program, founded in December 2017, has helped senior program and evaluation leaders from state education agencies accelerate their generation and use of evidence.

By supporting these innovative leaders who oversee states’ key education programs and evaluation efforts, Results for America elevated “invest in what works” champions all across the country. These state leaders are now part of a growing coalition of education leaders committed to building and using evidence and data to improve education outcomes.

Education Briefs and Case Studies

Results for America has developed a series of evidence-based tools to equip education leaders to tackle the most important challenges in the field.

EdResearch for Action – a joint initiative of the Annenberg Institute at Brown University and Results for America – partnered with leading researchers to create briefs, case studies and toolkits provide education leaders with practical guidance and actionable steps for designing and implementing evidence-based programs.

Our Economic Mobility Catalog highlights evidence-based strategies that advance kindergarten readiness, elementary and middle school success, high school graduation, and postsecondary enrollment and graduation.
