On October 2-4 2019, Results for America’s State and Local Workforce Fellows convened for the first time in Washington, DC while participating in RFA’s What Works for Advance Economic Mobility Summit. Fellows began to share and discuss progress each state team has made toward accelerating the use of data and evidence to drive improvement in their states.
During the convening, Fellows gathered in their state teams to explore key recommendations for driving state and local government workforce funding toward evidence-based strategies outlined in RFA’s “7 Ways to Improve Workforce Outcomes Using Evidence: 2019 Policy Roadmap for State & Local Officials.” Representatives from partner organizations also joined to offer prospective partnerships and data-driven guidance. Fellows explored such topics as Human-Centered Design and learned more about how states are using evidence and data to achieve better outcomes and increase economic mobility for residents.
Featured speakers and partners included:
- Virginia Hamilton, Strategic Advisor, Partnership for Public Service, and Senior Lead, Design Thinking and Innovation, American Institute for Research
- Coleridge Initiative
