Coalition Letter To Congress: Invest In What Works

On March 11, 2020, Results for America released an Invest in What Works Coalition letter signed by more than 80 local, state, and national leaders and organizations from across the country and across the political spectrum urging Congress to invest in evidence-based, result-driven solutions in FY2021.

“Your Appropriations Committees have demonstrated an unprecedented commitment to evidence-based, results-driven solutions to date, but much more needs to be done,” the coalition wrote in the letter to bipartisan leaders of the U.S House and U.S. Senate Appropriations Committees.

According to the 2019 Invest in What Works Federal Standard of Excellence, 35 federal grant programs at 14 of the largest federal social services and international development agencies prioritized evidence of effectiveness in some way last year, but 81 of the largest grant programs at these same agencies did not.

The attached funding and language provisions would help strengthen both the willingness and ability of federal agencies to continue harnessing the power of evidence and data to improve outcomes at the pace and scale our country needs.
