Vanessa Ramirez is a highly motivated Contracts Specialist for the City of Phoenix Human Services Department. Vanessa has a Bachelor of Health Care Administration, summa cum laude honors, and a Master of Business Administration from Grand Canyon University which have served her well in acquiring fundamental services, business and contracting solutions and supplies in support of the Business and Workforce Development, Homeless Services, and Victim Services Divisions. Her knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and requirements have been a major asset in the awarding and monitoring of over $160 million in Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act; American Rescue Plan Act; Emergency Solutions Grant; and Community and Development Block Grant funding. Her inquisitive nature, thoroughness and consummate professionalism have enabled her to become a recognized up and coming leader for the City with multiple letters and memos of recognition from her managers and peers. Vanessa is an innovator and a motivator, skills which have assisted her in educating staff on procurement policies and procedures. Her courteous and composed nature allows her to relate to persons on all levels thus obtaining “buy in” in sometime difficult situations.
