Dr. Rebati Mendali is currently serving as the Chief Economist for the DC Department of Employment Services (DOES). She leads the agency’s labor market research and performance effort and oversees economic research and reporting, performance management, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics programs. She ensures dissemination of relevant and integrated labor market information to support decision-making by the agency as well as other state and local stakeholders. She provides advisory support to the agency’s leadership team on matters related to long and short-range strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation, and policy recommendations in order to improve agency performance, workforce program outcomes, and effectiveness of workforce development strategies. Prior to joining the DC Department of Employment Services, Dr. Mendali provided advisory services to several public agencies, private institutions, and international development organizations. Dr. Mendali holds a Ph.D in Applied Economics from the University Of Georgia.
