Associate Director, Community and Implementation, What Works Cities
Owen O’Malley is Associate Director for Community and Implementation, contributing operational support and new program design thought leadership for What Works Cities. Owen was previously a project manager and city support specialist with the Open Cities team at The Sunlight Foundation, where he contributed to new service delivery design and helped manage relationships between cities, funders, and other partner organizations. Prior to his work in the nonprofit sector, Owen managed projects for Pearson Education’s K-12 Digital School division, and before that worked as a content manager, media production coordinator, and editorial contributor for several performing musician trade publications.
Owen holds a BFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the arts, and is currently working towards an MS in Interaction Design and Information Architecture at the University of Baltimore.
