Megan Hillyard is the Director of Administrative Services for Salt Lake County. Under the direction of Mayor Jennifer Wilson, Megan oversees much of the county’s internal operating functions, managing a $50 million budget for the divisions of Information Technology, Contracts and Procurement, Facilities Management, Archives and Records Management, Real Estate, and the Office of Data and Innovation.  She has lead an effort to rethink and retool the delivery of internal services, which are necessary to execute the Mayor’s key policy initiatives around public safety, government transparency, and efficient service delivery. During her time at Salt Lake County, Megan oversaw a reorganization of the county’s Information Technology division including the creation of a Technology Advisory Board, to best respond to continually changing technologies and provide better service to citizens. Megan got her start at Salt Lake County as community relations specialist for former Mayor Peter Corroon, followed by her position as senior policy advisory to County Councilmember Arlyn Bradshaw, then as an associate department director for Mayor Ben McAdams. Prior to joining the county, she was a Peace Corps volunteer in Namibia. Megan earned her B.A. in English and an M.A. in International Affairs from the University of Utah.
