Deputy Director, Business and Workforce Development Division, Human Services Department, City of Phoenix

Kweilin Waller currently is the Deputy Human Services Director for the Business and Workforce Development Division for the City of Phoenix where she manages Workforce Innovations and Opportunity Act (WIOA) programs as part of the statewide workforce development network ARIZONA@WORK. In her role, she is responsible for providing programmatic oversight for the city’s federal funded workforce programs which includes managing a $26 million annual budget and 54 full-time employees. With more than 17 years of local government experience, she has held diverse roles with the City of Phoenix including Special Projects Administrator in the Street Transportation Department, Deputy Chief of Staff for former Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton and Management Assistant to the City Manager. Kweilin also has extensive experience with federal grants and compliance, neighborhood economic development programs and design thinking principles. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Hampton University in Hampton, VA, a Master’s in Public Administration from Arizona State University.‚ÄØ She recently completed her Professional Coach Certification accredited by the International Coaching Federation from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. In addition, she serves on the Board of Directors for the Children’s Museum of Phoenix and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
