Krista Tedrow is an innovative education, workforce development, career technical training professional, executive, and entrepreneur. As a first-generation college student and foster/adoptive youth growing up in poverty, she understands the challenges facing marginalized communities. Prior to 2020 (and becoming the youngest workforce board executive director in the nation), her career was dedicated to working directly with youth, overseeing workforce programs, and consulting on national projects for Department of Labor. As a relational leader, she connects people, organizations, programs, resources and ideas to advance equitable economic progress at local, regional, and national levels. Krista believes education, advocacy, innovation, and systems improvement are foundational to building opportunities for the next generation.‚ÄØ Krista’s believes decisions made about funding, policy, and programs should be informed by the voice of those they are designed to serve. She is passionate about using her lived experience and advocates for people by serving as a member on Iowa Jobs for America’s Graduates (iJAG) State Board, Sieda Community Action Policy Council, Iowa Association of Workforce Boards, and the Empower Rural Iowa Board. Krista enjoys volunteering with Girls Scouts of Greater Iowa, mentoring youth in her community, and loves spending time with her husband and four-year-old daughter. She holds a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Buena Vista University.
