Liz is an innovative leader with over a decade of experience in education policy and systems change across the K-12, post-secondary and workforce sectors. She has worked alongside state policymakers, advocates, educators, and parents to develop and implement state and national level projects with a mission of changing the system to improve outcomes for students. Liz is currently the Director of Federal Systems in the Office of Teaching, Learning and Assessment at the Oregon Department of Education. She oversees the team responsible for the administration, implementing, and monitoring of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and all formula and competitive grants under ESSA. Liz is an avid baker, hiker, and coached the NOVA Cool Cats, an ice hockey team for individuals with disabilities. She received her M.Ed from James Madison University and a Certificate in Education Finance from Georgetown University.
