The enactment of the bipartisan Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) in December 2015 — the latest incarnation of 60 years of federal law designed to improve K-12 student outcomes, especially for our nation’s most historically underserved young people — ignited a shift in state and federal education funds toward evidence-based, results-driven interventions in Nevada. This case study demonstrates that state-level investments in evidence and data can lead to significant improvements in educational outcomes.
