Tania Chávez

Tania Chávez is Senior Manager of New Cities on the What Works Cities – City Experience team, where she works with cities across Latin America to advance data-driven decision-making. She previously served as a consultant for What Works Cities and has extensive experience collaborating with local governments, NGOs, and architecture and urban planning firms. Tania, a Mexican national, received her bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from Universidad de Guadalajara and a Master’s degree in Sustainable City and Public Space from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (ITESO), with additional studies in Public Policy. She has led projects in collaborative urban planning, active mobility, and participatory public space revitalization, combining her technical expertise with a strong community-centered approach.
