Founder and CEO of SoFine Food LLC

Sophia Maroon is the Founder and CEO of SoFine Food LLC, a specialty food company that produces Dress It Up Dressing, a line of all-natural salad dressings. Founded in 2012, with the objective of offering a clean, healthy product that rivaled home-made, Dress It Up Dressing has grown to be a national brand available at Whole Foods, Giant, Central Market, and Balducci’s among others, as well as online and through Amazon. Dress It Up Dressing has won both a Specialty Food Association “SOFI” Award, and a Good Food Award, and has been named “Best For The World” for the past three years by B-Lab in recognition of its social mission.

SoFine Food is a certified B Corporation, with third-party accreditation for its social and environmental impacts as well as standards for public transparency and legal accountability. Dress It Up Dressing’s mission is to be a company that benefits employees, the community and the planet by supporting food education, the local food movement, sustainable farming practices, efficient food distribution and access to healthy food for children. Sophia is a member of Les Dames d’Escoffier, the Specialty Food Association, and the Good Food Guild. She is a current scholar in the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program. She served on the Montgomery County Food Council for four years.

Prior to founding SoFine Food, Sophia was a documentary filmmaker, who produced programs for PBS, ABC and MSNBC while based in New York and Washington, D.C. She is a graduate of the University of St. Andrews in Scotland and lives in Maryland with her three children.
