Sara Khatami

Senior Manager, City Progress, What Works Cities


Sara Khatami is a Senior Manager for the What Works Cities team. She previously worked as an associate project manager for Raff and Becker LLP. In this role, she oversaw the operation of a software program designed to ameliorate racial discrimination in construction trades. Sara holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Boston College and a master’s degree in public policy from Duke University. While completing her graduate studies, she had the opportunity to work with the City of Durham’s innovation team, where she examined strategies to improve economic opportunity and mobility for justice-involved residents. Through this experience, she developed a passion for tackling policy challenges at the local level.
