Mark L. Sanders, II is the Deputy Commissioner of Workforce and Human Services for the Chicago Department of Family and Support Services. In 2019, when Mark was a Chicagoland Workforce Leadership Academy Fellow he was named “Most likely to completely overhaul our criminal justice system.” Mark sees his role with the Department as an opportunity to do his part in interrupting the school to prison pipeline he witnessed while working for the Illinois Department of Corrections Juvenile Justice Division. Mark holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Morehouse College, earned his Master of Science in Nonprofit Management from the Spertus Institute of Jewish Learning and Leadership, and he is a Chicago Urban League IMPACT Fellow (2016).
