Lynn Hoffman is the Director of District Support Services at the Nevada Department of Education. In her role, she oversees the Grants Management Unit for State and federal grant subaward issuance and subaward financial oversight, the Audit Unit, State and federal financial reporting, and she co-leads the implementation of the Nevada Department of Education State Improvement Plan (STIP). Lynn descends from the Blackfoot Cherokee Tribe and a combination of European ancestors. She grew up in an impoverished and underserved minority community and is the first in her family to graduate from college. She believes that education is a great equalizer and seeks to enhance the well-being of others to reach their full potential. She has held leadership positions in State and county government, taught a Pre-Collegiate Academy and undergraduate courses at UC Berkeley, as well as led three AmeriCorps programs, conducted child development research and secured grants to improve services for the most underserved populations in the California Bay Area. Lynn earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the School of Social Sciences at the University of California, Berkeley, a Master of Social Welfare (MSW) from the School of Social Welfare at the University of California, Berkeley, and also earned a California County Senior Executive Credential from the California State Association of Counties Institute for Excellence in County Government.
