As director of the Texas Workforce Investment Council, Lee Rector is responsible for leading the design, development and execution of the Council’s strategies, initiatives, and statutory responsibilities. Prior to her appointment as director in 2011, Lee served as the deputy director of the Council and led the system planning, evaluation, and research functions. She has designed and implemented higher education and workforce programs and initiatives in in both the United States and Australia, where she held leadership positions in the Queensland, Australia community college system and was an advisor to the Queensland Minister for Training and Employment. Lee holds a Bachelor of Educational Leadership, Master of Business Administration, and graduate diploma in human resource management and industrial relations from Griffith University in Queensland.
