Interim Human Resources Director for the City of Cincinnati
Latisha Hazell is the Interim Human Resources Director for the City of Cincinnati. Ms. Hazell has been a dedicated public servant for more than 22 years. Her extensive experience includes leading human resources programs and initiatives and managing teams of human resources professionals for various state agencies and departments, such as the Ohio Department of Administrative Services, Ohio Department of Commerce, the Ohio Department of Transportation, and the largest public-school district in Ohio: Columbus City Schools. Since 2016, Ms. Hazell has served the City of Cincinnati in the central Human Resources Department. She began her career at the City as the Division Manager of Workforce Management, the HR division that staffs the Civil Service Commission, then promoted to Deputy Director of Human Resources in 2021. In these roles, Ms. Hazell has been responsible for citywide workforce planning, recruitment, assessment and selection, position management, classification and compensation modeling and administration, and employee on-boarding. Ms. Hazell holds a Master of Business Administration and a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management from Franklin University. She possesses a Master Certificate in High Performance Leadership issued by the International City Management Association (ICMA) and is a Certified Professional Life Coach. In her free time, she volunteers her time coaching youth, college students, and women of African descent where she is responsible for engaging them in self-discovery by offering direction, mentoring and support for their education, professional development, and life goals.
