Kendra Winner’s 18 years of educational experience includes research with a variety of populations such as urban students, children with cognitive and language disabilities, and low-income and working-class children of all ages. She has worked on a number of longitudinal studies including an analysis of the language and literacy development in an ethnically and economically diverse group of high achieving high school students, the language and literacy development of low income children, and the design and implementation of an evaluation of a Boston urban middle-school intervention. For the past seven years she has been the Research and Evaluation Coordinator at the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education overseeing external, third party evaluations. She is also currently the Department’s lead on evidence-based practices.
