Judy Jiang

Associate, Rapid Response Unit (RRU)


Judy Jiang works on the Rapid Response Unit, RFA’s internal consulting team supporting high-priority projects and advancing the organization’s strategy and impact. Previously, she spent 6 years working across government agencies, consultancies, and nonprofit organizations in project management, strategy, and communications. For the U.S. Navy in Washington state, Judy led the initial design for a new regional stormwater program. For the U.S. Agency for International Development, she supported research on the water, sanitation, and hygiene sector’s response to COVID-19 in sub-Saharan Africa and was the lead author on a country case study of Malawi.

Throughout her career, Judy is drawn towards working on challenging environmental and social problems. She believes that effective and long-lasting solutions are possible when she and others work from a place of deep self-understanding, strong relationships, and creative freedom & expression. Outside of RFA, Judy is a published writer and photographer. She is also a trained mediator and facilitator. Judy studied engineering at Oregon State University with a minor in humanitarian engineering. In her life she values meditation, yoga, hiking in wild landscapes, singing & dancing, non-violent communication, and her family & community. She lives in Portland, OR with her partner and their dog.
