Jasmine Illa is the Chief of Staff for the DC Workforce Investment Council (WIC). Prior to joining the team, she led finance and then operations for the Food and Nutrition Services Department at DC Public Schools, where she worked to ensure students had access to healthy and delicious meals necessary to achieve academic success.  She also worked in the private sector for a specialist insurance and her focus was professional liability and cyber security. Jasmine grew up working in family-owned restaurants in Chicago. Through this experience, she witnessed firsthand how investments in local workforce not only kept neighborhoods vibrant and cultures thriving, but also created opportunities for residents to find employment with businesses that cared for them. Jasmine is excited for the WIC to contribute to the ongoing success of the dynamic workforce in the District.
