Ivy Gilbert

Associate, Marketing and Communications, What Works Cities

Ivy Gilbert is a Communications and Marketing Associate for What Works Cities and leads the organization’s social media strategy and newsletter campaigns. She tells the stories of cities across the country that are improving residents’ lives by using data and evidence effectively to tackle pressing challenges. Previously, Ivy supported college-level writers as they found their voices during her time as a writing center tutor at Dickinson College. She brings a unique perspective to the team with her background in both the earth sciences and feminist/queer literary analysis. She is passionate about the intersectional consequences of climate change and the role that cities must play in mitigating that impact. When she is not spotlighting the value of data-driven governance, you can find her in Prospect Park adding to her bird-watching life list and dispelling the myth that the City is only home to pizza rats and pigeons.
