Director, School Support, Minnesota Department of Education

Greg Keith is the Chief Academic Officer for the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE). He oversees the divisions of Academic Standards and Instructional Effectiveness; College and Career Success; Student Support; School Support; and the Office of Equity and Opportunity. His deep, professional knowledge and relationships both within MDE and in the field will move us toward more seamless and cohesive delivery in support of schools.

Previously at the department, Greg served as the Director of the Division of School Support, which supports the Q Comp program and the statewide system of support for the state’s identified Focus and Priority schools. He has also worked as an educator evaluation specialist, implemented the pilot of the state principal evaluation example model, and worked with the teacher evaluation work group to design the state teacher evaluation default model.

Greg is a former classroom teacher, principal, and district administrator in the areas of teacher induction, school reform, and professional development. He has a B.A. in English and secondary education and a Master’s degree in school administration and supervision.
