Elisabeth Nixon-Peterson is the Director of the Priority Schools Bureau at the New Mexico Public Education Department, where she has worked as a turnaround specialist and Deputy Director since 2011. Elisabeth’s work is grounded in improving outcomes for students by working with districts to think through the conditions of success, instructional infrastructure, differentiated support and accountability and talent management. Her most rewarding work is in building the capacity of leaders through the states Principals Pursuing Excellence and Teachers Pursuing Excellence Programs.
