Deanna Ping is an Invest in What Works Senior Fellow (Director, State Practice) at Results for America. She brings over a decade of experience in state government, with roles spanning policy development, budget strategy, and program implementation. Most recently, she served as Chief Deputy Director at the California Department of Industrial Relations, the agency tasked with safeguarding the health, safety and economic wellbeing of workers.

Throughout her career, she has focused on inclusive economic mobility and strengthening government capacity to deliver a measurable, lasting impact. Her work has included crafting legislation to support working families, launching statewide outreach programs to drive meaningful community engagement, and building data-driven systems to improve public service delivery.

Deanna received her bachelor’s degree from Cornell University, an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School.
