Harnessing the Power of Evidence and Data to Improve Federal Grantmaking
Results for America gathered support from 53 organizations and 27 individuals, who are committed to improving how data, evidence, and innovative approaches across different programs are used to better the lives of children and families throughout the United States, to provide recommendations to the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) regarding a specific set of rules called 2 CFR 200, also known as the Uniform Guidance. This set of rules lays out how government grants are managed, especially those given to state and local governments.
The recommendations aim to support OMB in creating final guidance that will genuinely help states and localities tackle the practical difficulties they face when managing federal grants. The ultimate goal is to make the grant administration process more effective, efficient, and accountable. These recommendations also suggest actions that OMB and federal agencies could take to maximize the positive impact of the updated guidance.
