Gilbert Montaño currently serves as the Chief Administrative Officer for the City of New Orleans. Since the start of Mayor LaToya Cantrell’s administration in May 2018, she appointed Mr. Montaño as her second-in-command. Key responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day management of the City’s numerous departments and agencies, preparing and executing the City’s $700 million yearly operating budget and $1.2 billion 5-year capital program, and coordinating and implementing innovative solutions to reform city government.

Mr. Montaño has diverse past professional experience in both the private and public sector throughout the United States. Mr. Montaño holds both a Master in Public Administration and a Master in Business Administration from the University of New Mexico.
