Gilbert Montano has been with the Berry Administration since 2009, where he served as the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). As the Deputy CAO, he handled all legislative initiatives and other high profile projects such as the Paseo del Norte/I-25 Interchange, Uptown Redevelopment, the Rail Yards, Downtown Redevelopment, Albuquerque Rapid Transit and all technology initiatives and implementations. Montano maintains his Deputy CAO duties and responsibilities, while also providing direct management and supervision of the Mayor’s Office, Directors, philanthropic initiatives and multiple departments within the City of Albuquerque. He also serves as the Mayor’s chief policy advisor and spokesperson, ensuring all priority projects are managed and completed. Montano holds two Masters Degrees, a M.B.A. and M.P.A., accompanied by many years of government and legislative experience.
