The Results for America State Education Fellows Gather in Washington D.C.

On November 15-16, 2018, Results for America’s State Education Fellows convened in Washington D.C. to share and discuss progress each state team has made toward accelerating the use of data and evidence to drive improvement in their districts and schools.

During the two-day convening the Fellows discussed various topics related to implementing evidence-based approaches, with a particular emphasis on two key leverage points in the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA): how states allocate school improvement grants to districts and schools  and the design and provision of technical assistance to districts and schools in electing evidence-based interventions. Fellows had the opportunity to hear from national experts on topics such as communicating effectively about research evidence and building impactful relationships with external partners to support school improvement.

Results for America’s State Education Fellows program, founded in December 2017, is helping 19 state education agency officials from 9 leading states implement the new evidence provisions in ESSA to improve education outcomes for all their students.
