Capitol Hill Film Screening and Lunch: “Solutions to America’s Workforce Crisis”

On April 10, 2018, Results for America, WorkingNation, and Cummins convened a briefing on Capitol Hill to discuss how federal policy can support innovative and evidence-based approaches to improving outcomes in workforce development.

During the event, we premiered our What Works Media Project film, “Solutions to America’s Workforce Crisis.” The film by award-winning filmmakers Kristi Jacobson and Mikaela Beardsley follows the lives of three young people as they prepare for a rapidly changing jobs market, and highlights the promise of evidence-based workforce development programs to help them succeed.

In addition, we also screened the latest animated short from WorkingNation, “Slope of the Curve.” The short film directed by two-time Academy Award-winning director Marshall Curry and narrated by “Black-ish” star Anthony Anderson sounds the alarm on a looming U.S. unemployment crisis.
