Mi-Mi Saunders

Associate Director, Federal Education and Workforce Policy


Mi-Mi Saunders is the Associate Director of Federal Education and Workforce Policy at Results for America. Mi-Mi previously served as the Deputy Program Manager on a USAID education project that measures literacy levels and the effect of early childhood education in Zambia. In this capacity, Mi-Mi advised the Zambian government to adopt national policies based on evidence and conducted capacity-building trainings. Previously, Mi-Mi worked at the U.S. Department of Education, where she provided policy research and technical assistance to help states and grantees combat discrimination in the areas of race, gender, national origin, and religion. She also researched and designed a $250 million-dollar technical assistance grant program for state education agencies and supported states to return students back to classrooms after natural disasters. At Columbia Law School, Mi-Mi coordinated human rights trainings and oversaw two public service programs. Prior, she taught 7th – 10th grade students in Cape Verde and Mozambique with the U.S. Peace Corps and designed curriculum alongside Brazilian public schools with Mobis, a Brazilian civic education organization. She holds degrees from Columbia University and the University of California, Berkeley.
