Case Study: U.S. House of Representatives Explores Social Impact Bonds

On Tuesday, September 9, the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Human Resources held a hearing entitled, “Social Impact Bonds: Can They Help Goverment Achieve Better Results for Families in Need?” The hearing explored progress of state and local social impact bonds to date, as well as federal efforts such as H.R. 4885, the Social Impact Bond Act sponsored by U.S. Representatives Todd Young (R-IN) and John Delaney (D-MD).

Results for America supported H.R. 4885 and its companion bill in the Senate (S. 2691) sponsored by U.S. Senators Michael Bennet (D-CO) and Orrin Hatch (R-UT). Michele Jolin, Managing Partner at Results for America, submitted testimony for the hearing which can be found here.
